I read this news this week regarding underage cricketers and CAN (not coke can) told that its parents fault, is it? What do you think?
Overage cricketers’ row: CAN promises not to repeat mistakes
A day after the shocking disqualification of Nepal along with seven other nations from the ongoing Under 15 ACC cricket tournament for fielding over-aged players, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), on Sunday, promised not to repeat the mistake in future.
Stating that these countries had fielded elder players, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had decided to hold final match between Kuwait and Singapore – the only two nations found to have abided by the rule.
Meanwhile, CAN president Binay Raj Pandey told Kantipur that parents have the major role in establishing the actual age of the players. He said parents would be responsible for providing wrong birth date of the players.
On Monday, the final between Singapore and Kuwait is going to be held in Bhaktapur ground.
Although Nepal had reached the semi-finals of the tournament with undefeated streak in the league matches, it was subjected to shock exit after the ACC disciplinary action. Nepal had won two previous U-15 ACC championship and was looking to achieve a hat-trick victory.
